Stockton Northern Gateway Townscape Heritage Scheme

Archaeological Excavation 2021

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council (SBC) secured National Lottery Heritage Fund money to improve the historic environment at the northern end of Stockton High Street. As part of this project Tees Archaeology worked with SBC to provide the opportunity for local people to take part in an archaeological excavation on the site of the 19th century Congregational Church, on the corner of Norton Road and Tennant Street during 

 

Stockton Building Recording

From 2009 to 2013 volunteers were engaged with the Stockton Building Recording Project collaborating with Tees Archaeology, with the support of Stockton Borough Council Regeneration and Museum Services. The projects aim was to create a snapshot in time of the historic core of Stockton Town Centre. A photographic catalogue and a written record of each building was created.
