Whitburn Excavation Talk

The results of an excavation conducted in Whitburn in 2022 were presented to the public at Whitburn Library on Friday 10th of May. The talk was attended by 27 people. Thank you to the volunteer staff that made this event possible and for creating the exhibition in the library to display some of the finds recovered. The excavation report can be downloaded here 

An introduction to archaeology for divers workshop was conducted at Tees Archaeology in February 2023. This workshop was part of the Seascapes project.

The day included talks on archaeology and legislation. the Historic Environment Records on land and sea, Maritime and coastal archaeology, 3D recording of Maritime heritage and two practical sessions, one identifying and recording archaeological finds and an archaeological recording session set in the grounds. 16 Divers attended the session from a variety of diving groups from around the Tyne and Tees Area.
